Banjaluka is educative and university
center of north-western part of Republic of Srpska, as for B GIMNAZIJA Among the all high schools, the most distinguished is Banjaluka's "Gimnazija", which was one of the most respected high schools in former Yugoslavia. Gimnazija is also the oldest high school institution. Initiative for opening of Gimnazija in Banjaluka, was started by Town agency in Sarajevo, during the nineteenth century. The agency recommended opening of Gimnazija in Sarajevo, which was explained by the need for creating of "technical intelligence". The government sent this request to the Joint ministry in Vienna, which accepted recommendation, and approved opening of Gimnazija - not in Sarajevo but in Banjaluka. The great secondary school was ceremoniously opened on the forth of October 1895. UNIVERZITET After World War Two Banjaluka
got it's University,which during 25 years of its existence, gave planty of
